What does lack of funds mean?

Lack of funds is an issue that occurs when an account does not have adequate capital to satisfy a payment demand, or lack of capital deposited in an account.

This is also known as insufficient funds.

That said, “not having money is no excuse” or lack of capital should not deter a company from its business goals. By pivoting, grinding it out, getting creative, and differentiating, a company can bootstrap its way to a sustainable business (Ryan Westwood, 2014).

Definition of funds

Funds are a sum of money set aside for specified purpose, such as to finance or underwrite a business, program, or project.
